5 Smoothie Recipes Without Yogurt

admin June 11, 2012 1

For those who are looking for smoothie recipes without yogurt, it can be a frustrating endeavor when most recipes seem to contain it. If you’re one of those people, then you probably either dislike yogurt or can’t tolerate dairy products. No matter which category you fall under, you should give these smoothie recipes a try! If you can’t consume dairy products, then non-dairy milk works just as well as dairy milk in these recipes. Some great options are almond milk, soy milk or coconut milk (the beverage, not the canned type). Depending on how sweet your fruit are and your taste preferences, you may not even need to add a sweetener. If you do wish to use one, some natural options are honey, maple syrup, stevia or agave syrup.

Greens such as spinach or kale can be added to any of these smoothies for added nutrition, although some people dislike the thought of drinking a smoothie containing greens. If you’ve never had a green smoothie but would like to try one, it’s probably better to start with a small handful or less and then adjust the amount of greens to gauge your preferences.

Keep in mind that these recipes are just ideas for you to work with and the measurements used are just basic guidelines. Don’t feel the need to be restrictive about the amount of each ingredient that goes in your smoothie. They are one of the most versatile things you could make, so definitely experiment with different combinations of fruit. Here are the recipes. Enjoy!
